Bleeding at 5 weeks.

In the path lab now waiting for bloods.

GP said usually they'd refer me to EPU for early scan on the day that I know I would be 6 weeks but because I'm not sure of dates and have longish cycles she said theyd do do bloods. She said they dont usually do them but on this case shed refer me.

Waiting now to have bloods taken and then have to go to the EPU on Sunday morning to have more taken.

Good luck hun. I don’t think you need it though. Your going to be just fine and brilliant news that you got a 3+ in a digital it means your hcg is definitely rising xx

The last two weeks have been filled with different emotions. I was just starting to accept it and then that bloody pink when I wiped last night.

Trying to remain positive. Still have cramping and backache not bad, just like a lesser period xx

Still no more bleeding. Still cramps and backache though.

Cracked open yesterdays digi and this mornings digi. Top two are yesterdays, which read 2-3 and the bottom two are from this mornings reading 3+and looks way darker imo.

Surely that's a good sign? Xx

Still in limbo

Rang EPU, couldn't find my results at first. When hey eventually found them all she would tell me is that they had risen, wouldnt tell me how much and that they need to book me in for a scan tomorrow. All she said was that they were at the level where they might see something and they might not?

Booked in for a scan at half 9 tomorrow morning now. I'm only 5 weeks 4 days, but shes going off LMP which would be 6 weeks 4 days, I did try to tell her I'm closer to 5 weeks because I have long cycles but she didn't seem to take that on board.

GP didn't say a scan would be necessary after bloods so now I am even more worried. Was expecting to have an answer yesterday, and then an answer thismormomg and now I have to wait until tomorrow xx

The line darkness of the digis doesn't have anything to do with the reading. If you've not had any more bleeding I'd stay positive. I had horrible cramps and backache for most of tri 1, it's normal x

I’m surprised they wouldn’t tell you the numbers but I would assume that the second reading was over 2000 as most places won’t scan unless your bloods are over that. Also at just over five weeks you will probably only see the sack so don’t worry xx

Just seen this thread. So sorry you have been going through this.

The scan is from the EPU not from the GP so don’t be worried. They tend not to work too closely anyway. The GP did the right thing booking bloods but the EPU need to make sure you’re ok to. When I was a student MW we would still tend to do our own thing for our peace of mind.

So many women bleed through pregnancy and still go on to have a healthy baby at the end so although it’s easy for my to type please try not to worry too much. Like you say though no more bleeding is a good sign.

Back from EPU. Good news.

Couldn't find a reason for the bleed.

Found the sac straight away measuring between 5/6 weks on the left side but all in the right place. Checked my ovaries apparently their not polycystic anymore, then she went back to embryo, and identified the yolk sak and also saw the heartbeat. Didn't measure heartbeat but could see it flickering away which they weren't expecting to see giving I was so early. Was warned before hand that I'd probably be back over the next few weeks to see what's happening but was informed after they saw heartbeat that they wouldnt be necessary and I'd be discharged back to GP. She said she couldn't see anything that would make her concerned and all looked normal. Although she did say I had a heart shaped uterus and was surprised that hadn't been picked up on all the previous scans I'd had for pcos.

Noticed in the scan report it says CRL=1.6mm? No idea what that means. Any ideas?

No need to go back unless I spot again in which case have to get referred through GP again.

My HCG was:

Friday 12pm: 3268
Sunday 10am: 5119

Hopefully wont have any more issues now.

Haha i just googled it. Not exactly how far along that puts me? Somewhere between 5 weeks and 6 weeks 1 day? I think.
