Bleeding after sex

My daughter was born just under 8 weeks ago and me and my partner have just had sex for the first time since she was born. I found it quite uncomfortable and have since been bleeding just a small amount. My partner was very gental throughout. Is this normal?

sorry to ask bt was the blood old or new, ie red or brownish ?

yeah it has now. I spoke to my doctor as I had an appointment about something else and she said it sounded quite normal.
