Bleed at 15 weeks

Hi ladies,

Anyone had any experience with an unexplainable bleed in the second tri?

I’m 15+2 and today I had a bleed. It was significant as it filled the toilet bowl, ruined my clothes etc. It has since stopped and I have had a scan and baby is happy and safe in my tummy. The weird part is there is no evidence that I bled, my cervix is closed and the ultra sound tech found no reason for the bleed or evidence I even bled.

Hi April I had this at 14 weeks, 16 weeks and 27 weeks. I was told I had a cervical etropion and basically my cervix was extra sensitive and bleeding for no reason. All worked out ok in the end, I’m currently sat here feeding my 4 week old xx

Although really scary this does happen sometime and often there is no real issue for it either. Main thing is baby seems happy and your cervix is closed. I’d do my best to have a good day or two resting and hopefully that’s the last of it.

I had one with my son at 26 weeks - was terrifying at the time and totally unexplained. Only happened once and everything was fine x

Thanks for all your replies ladies. Seems as it’s not as uncommon as I thought.

I’m really just focusing on how amazing baby was when we saw he/she. The bleed was really scary we thought the worst as I was also in abit of pain which they can’t explain either!

I had one at 24 weeks. It happened in the middle of the night, no real reason for it although I had done a lot of cleaning the day before. I was told to take it easy as my placenta was low which could have been the cause although they couldn't see any problems with it on the scan and it wasn't covering the cervix. Thank goodness it hasn't happened again but I have been on edge since then. Just waiting for my boy to arrive now!

I’m not feeling so positive anymore. I have had a missed miscarriage before so I feel like because I haven’t seen my baby since Tuesday the bleed was a warning sign and something is wrong with it. Honestly, I have no reason other than my history to feel this way...I have had no pain or bleeding since Tuesday. I’ve had some shooting pain in my pelvis but I assume that’s normal.
