I have never experienced this in any of my previous pregnancies so I really don't know what to do! The bitter taste in my mouth is all I can think of, it's like I am sucking on paracetamol all day long; I have tried sour sweets, fruits etc... Doesn't help. It's so annoying! The only time my mouth isn't bitter is when I am eating (atleast)... Any remedies or (short term) cures?

I tried pickled onions...It helped...till I was sick a few hours later xx

Haha@being sick afterwards ... I will give it a try.

I just chew a lot of gum! Fruit flavour gum seems better than mint but mint makes me feel a bit sick lol

My sickness seems to have subsided now and I can't stand pickles onions. I had bad sickness from 7-14 weeks. Hope you find something that works for you though xx

I had this all through with both my girl pregnancies (not with my son though) it was horrible and my mouth never felt clean, things I found helped were, using bicarb toothpaste (arm and hammer) and lemon chewing gum, and salt water rinses regularly throughout the day!

Orange juice helps get rid of the bitterness for a while...seems to be the only thing that doesn't make me feel sick after drinking as well,,,

I have this and it is literally driving me mad. Some days it's so bad I'm nearly in tears.

I've started sipping orange juice too.

It's awful, some days are worse than others, and it seems to get worse as the day goes on, (worse in an evening).
If I eat it helps but within 5 minutes of eating it's back and worse than before. I'm eating more than I need to because I'm finding I'm craving food JUST to take away the bitter taste in my mouth.

I've tried sucking lollipops and drinking cola, which helps but doesn't last long enough, and then I feel really bad about all the sugar and E numbers etc.

Really hoping it goes away by 12 weeks, I can't cope with it the whole pregnancy, it's driving me crazy.

Urgh I have this , I'm 24 weeks!! I can't stand the taste after brushing my teeth , its a daily nightmare x

surprisingly mine has just stopped :-o ; i did nothing, hopefully it doesnt return. i hope that the taste magically goes away or everyone else soon too.

I am now worried about bleeding :-( i think this is the second time in the pregnancy, dark dark brown and not so much, can just see it in my tissue when i wipe but i am so worried :-( .. this didnt happen in my previous pregnancies, they say that i should contact my gp but i am not sure that there is much that they can do.

Oh, really hope it's nothing serious. Brown blood is supposed to be OK. Especially if there's not a lot.

I had a warm bath yesterday and then worried all night & this morning that the water was too hot and I'd end up miscarrying

The first 12 weeks are truly awful. All the stress and worry, the cramping, the bloating, the nausea. The baby is worth it of course, but I am literally wishing away these next few weeks. I'm actually really glad it's Christmas just so I have something else to think about and concentrate on.

Thank you for the reassurance Phoenix85, brown blood was so little! And it hasn't happened again since; yes, the worrying is so exhausting! I too can't wait till mid Jan when I am in my second trimester. I know that all will be will for all of us on here. I almost wish I was young and ignorant again as I didn't worry at all with my other 2... We'll take care X

Wait, are hot baths bad?? ... I usually take showers anyway but would be good to know although I doubt that they are bad Lol.. What we need to do is remember that outer babies are so little thus somewhat protected.

Yeah, hot baths can raise the temperature and cause miscarriage, but I'm not sure how hot it'd have to be.

With the one I miscarried in 2009 I had some spotting at 6 weeks but then it stopped after a day, and a couple of days later I went to my friend's who was having a hot tub party, 2 days later I started spotting again and then bleeding & I miscarried. Not sure whether it would have happened anyway or if the hot tub caused it. At the time I didn't realise it could be an issue.

No spotting or bleeding this time but I've only had a bath once and stuck to showers because I like my baths really hot & I'm a bit worried about it.
