Anyone used this?

I bought some as I have a few little stretch marks on my thighs (lovely  ) thinking I would start using it on my belly too once it starts to grow properly but it says "for use from the first trimester".

Is it any good at actually preventing stretch marks then do you think?

I don't suffer from them a lot but when I was 16 I started exercising a lot in the gym and developed them on my thighs then. They are silvery now but I am still very conscious of them and would rather not have them on my belly if possible...

Anyone used Bio Oil before?

I got two 200ml bottles for £20 about a week ago from fragrencymad.com and it seems to do the trick. I'm prone to stretch marks so I thought I'd try and get the best stuff I could. Seems to be ok so far though.

I bought some at about 8wks - the idea was to prepare my skin for stretching.
No stretch marks yet at 17wks but also not a very big bump.
I will be continuing in the hope that it prevents them but according to the books I've read, you either get them or you don't.

It is pretty expensive stuff though.

My mum uses it on her face and swears by it for smoothing wrinkles! If it works for her it must be good! She's prone to bad skin and said it actually does work.

as with anything if you are going to get them bad then nothing will prevent then. It might mean they have a better texture as the skin is well hydrated. If you can afford it, i would recommend it. I used it with my daughter and mine are barely visable (i got some on my bum that i missed as i couldn't see them and you can see the difference)

forgot to add, if you can't afford it or don't think it's worth the price a cheap moisturiser will work fairly well too as it will keep the skin moist which will help it recover from any damage, plus the massaging action of applying the cream will increase blood flow which will also help keep the skin supple and healthy which may not prevent stretch marks but will help stop them becoming too extreme and they'll fade quicker :)

Oh I've heard cocoa butter is supposed to be good as well. I suppose it is all about elasticity isn't it.

By the way, love the image of the ones on your bum that you missed - that's an ace scientific experiment-style comparison :D

Thanks for the advice ladies!

USE IT RELIGIOUSLY lol

I was using coco butter even tho it make me feel :puke:

However recently bought bio oil as noticed a tiny few stretch marks on my thighs and am terrified of getting them on my bump...

Ive only just started getting marks in the last trimester where im growing massive and fast haha.

The worst are on my boobies.

I just think if you give your skin as much moisture as poss ur less likely to get them.

Put baby oil in your bath too...

OIL OIL OIL UP!! haha xxx

Lol. I wasn't impressed at the time. I was so smug that i literally had 2 tiny slithers of stretch marks on my tummy until my lovely husband pointed out to me that my bottom and thighs didn't get away so lightly  i didn't even think about the possibility of getting stretch marks there. :wall: never mind hey!

LOL Big fan of oil eh?

I shall try the baby oil in the bath thing although I think it may interfere with my lovely bubbles (I have to have them as the water here is the colour of tea/urine. Delightful :D) but sod it, I just won't look down

I am doing front, sides and inner thighs. I just know my love handles will take some punishment...

Stupid skin :shakehead:

Hi there
I'm in my final trimester and I've used it for the majority of my pregnancy. I started off with Palms Coco Butter for Stretch Marks but I couldn't stand the feel of it on my skin it wouldn't seem to rub in as it is very thick.
Bio Oil is fabulous I can honestly say my skin has never been as soft ever (I'm 43) I know it's a little bit oily when you apply it but I love the feel of it on my skin especially on my tummy. I always put it on my breasts carrying through to my armpits (Thinking about the weight of my once average but now huge boobs and the effect it could have on the delicate skin), Always put it on my torso from under my boobs and down to my pubic line. On my bottom, Hips and tops of thighs where I too have some very pale silvery stretch marks from when I was younger. I go through a large 200ml size about every 6 weeks, it isn't cheap but I think it's worth it and upto now i'm ok. Prevention is better than cure just keep the skin moisturied and hydrated as this will help to limit your chances of getting them but most women do get them somewhere so it's not the end of the world if you do and as you know they do fade over time. Get the Bio Oil though and give it a try you may not like the feel of it on your skin. There is a website that is selling 2 x 200ml for £20 including delivery which is really cheap I'll try to remember what it is and post it so all you lovely ladies can get the bargains!

Haven't ordered any from here yet but fragrancemad.com 0121 559 9055 is offering 2 x 200ml Bio Oil for £20.00 including postage and packaging.

Thought I'd spread the good word. Give them a call first before ordering to check that their supplies are upto the demand!!

Happy Oiling!

i never used bio oil in pregnancy but i used it after giving birth to smooth out the stretchmarks. it works!

to prevent them i used palmers cocoa butter- which worked too i did not get one single stretchmark on my bump- and my bump was MASSIVEEEEEEE! but i didnt think to use it on my boobs, i didnt realise how much they'd grow (32A to 34DD!) and thats the only place i got them  they appeared all of a sudden at 38 weeks

but bio oil got rid of them :cheer:

ive started to use bio oil and coco butter lotion. im like a zebra anyway and i'll die if i get any more!!!!! its expensive but if it works ill buy it by the truck load!!!

ps cant believe ur 9 weeks budda!!!!!! its going by so quickly for u!
