Better off with maternity pay

Im not pregnant at the mo but just thinking ahead for the future!!!

Im not actually returning to work until next month but when we do have another my weekly wage will only be £90 per week. Maternity is £108??? will I get that amount??

My wages used to be £135 per week and I got 90% for 1st 6 weeks and then £108?? for 20 weeks

The Goverment state that you should get a minimum of 90% of your wages for 6 weeks then SMP for the remainder unless your employer have their own scheme.

Babies due on or after 1 April 2007

SMP is paid for:

First 6 weeks - 90% of your average weekly earnings with no upper limit

Remaining 33 - weeks Standard rate or a rate equal to 90% of your average weekly earnings. You will get whichever rate is lower.
