Better late than never!!!!
Here is my birth story!
Was visiting my mum 100 miles away for the weekend and had awful back pain and just felt a bit rubbish. Got home on the Sunday had a bath & went to bed (34wks). Sunday evening was having period like cramps but just ignored it.
34+1 rang triage and they told me to go in.
Monitored which showed all the pains and had a internal and a swab which was positive and was told I would go into labour in the next 2 weeks. Was moved to labour ward and started on iv treatment to stop labour and had a steroid injection which bloody hurt!!
34+2 waters broke whilst having iv drip. Was examined and treatment stopped. Pains had stopped though and cervix was 1cm. Saw another consultant who told me my waters hadnt broken and they were going to 'monitor' me. Got really upset at his attitude so went home and was given some antibiotics.
34+3 pains were coming and going not really much to worry about and was so exhausted and felt really chesty from steroids!!
34+4 rang triage at 5am felt awful. Had a massive contraction which had me doubled over. Went back. Monitored etc nothing much happening at all Ollie was fine and I was just tired. Later that night I started bleeding and just diddnt feel right. Was put back on the monitor and ollies heart rate was 220-230 mw got a doc straight away who took bloods from me told me to lie down on my side and relax and said he would give me a hour. I was really relaxed drifting in and out of sleep but heart rate was still over 200 and mine was around 130. So they decided baby needed to be born ASAP. No neonatal beds in the hospital I was in so was transferred by blue light to another hospital 30mins away.
Given iv treatment to start contractions and within 4hrs I was 10cm.
34+5 at 04.45 Ollie was born, 6lb 3oz!!! And was taken straight to NICU. Had bloods taken and needed a little bit of oxygen and a ng tube.
Poor Ollie had a awful infection from my waters breaking 4 days earlier yet a doctor told me they hadn't. He had 5 days if iv antibiotics, phototherapy for jaundice and needed help feeding but after a week we took him home!!
He is 9 weeks old now and is 11lb 8oz and gorgeous!!! But I am still annoyed that they left me so long and my baby got unwell

I know you were expressing to feed him, did i see somewhere that you were you thinking of breast feeding? If so did it all work out alright? Xxx
