Belly piercings!

Mines gone all red where the bar is, and is tender to touch, the actual entrance and exit holes are fine but its tender where the bar is.
I have noticed when im at work my desk is at the height where it rubs against this when i work so im hoping this is why its gone red, but has anyone elses done this??

The last thing i wanna do it leave it in if its not happy and risk it ripping out. I've got a maternity bar in already and its ben fine up until now.

Also does anyone know how long it'll take for the hole ot heal over if i take it out?? I've been googling it but cant seem to find answers

i toke mine out months and months agao as it was getting sore even with a mat bar in.
its much better now not sure if its closed up though as the hole still looks quite open

I took mine out at 6 weeks in the hope it would stop it going funny when I got big... it didn't it's horrible and scarred where the skin has stretched but I think it'll look ok when the bump goes down... I HOPE!

my belly button is gross... luckily I can't actually see it though!

Same here. I took mine out at about 20 weeks. Mine is so red and angry looking, however I had the same thing with Sean and the bar went back in fine afterwards. The only difference was that the skin between the two holes stayed quite stretched and saggy which I was a bit upset about.

hmmm, i dont know whether to take it out and hope it'll go back in, or leave it.
I'm def gonna give it a few more days to calm down, cos if it was being at work and the desk rubbing it should get better. I've got doctors friday (in replacement of midwife) so im sure if its still red he'll comment on it then, and i can always ask.

I think mines gonna go all saggy after too

mines still in lol, had quite a longish bar in anyway, but it hasnt caused me any problems!!

i would try a longer bar. my piercing has survived 2 pregnancies so it can work

I kept mine with my son. Didn't buy a specific maternity bar. Bought a long retianer bar from my piercest. So, it never went sore and had loads of room left on it.

However, took my bar out three years ago, as it was getting on my nerves.. The holes are still there (not baggy though)

Two docs have asked me if I have had an operation there. So, feel a little peed off by it

I had to take mine out as although I had a maternity bar in, the piercing area went very flat and I was scared it would rip through and it was getting red and sore. I now just put the bar through once a week to make sure it doesn't close up.

I took mine out early on but still looks all red and scarred. Im not sure why this is as its not strecthed but it sure looks UGLY I had it pierced 11 years ago so its not closed.

I took my top one out when I found out - and managed to put a bar back in yesterday

I kept the bottom one is all the way through

oh so fingers crossed if i do end up taking it out it should still be ok after wards.

It's upsetting cos i've never had a problem with it before, it's never even been sore in the whole time i've had it

I bathed it in boiled salty water this morning and its looking less red already so fingers crossed its done the trick!!

i think youd be fine if u took it out, mine did a similar thing and i ended up taking it out at 30 weeks but still got it back in fine after birth

My body decided to reject my piercing a few months before I became pregnant. I am left with a small lump of scar tissue. I loved my piercing and may consider having it done again...if my stomach becomes flat again
