Okay, Im too impatient to wait for a proper journal to be set up so Im just going to start here and hope that admin will be able to move it for me, because they're awesome and clever like that :flower: (thank you in advance!)

So today I painfully parted with £1440 which I do not have to buy the franchise for a preschool class in my area. Im beyond excited, and freaking out as Im now in debt so that got me motivated to do a heap of work trying to spread the word. I highjacked (sp?) my mums laptop as mine has broken :brat: and spent a good 2 hours on it while LO napped.

As a result of my hard work I now have;

the local newspaper attending my first class to cover the launch and take pictures, a Facebook page with people already 'liking' who aren't just friends being nice :oooo: I have a stall at a family fun day in August and a mums and tots group who are keen for me to come and talk to them about the classes and get some feedback from them too. My own little focus group

and the best bit, as I was tidying after putting LO to bed, my BB pinged with an email enquiry about my classes! :pompom: I have NO idea what to write back, so Im frantically working out prices, locations and finding a blurb from the franchiser about the class to send back. Yippeeeeee so excited!

thanks, it has left me feeling quite optimistic! sort of hoping to get enough bookings to cover my new debt by start of term. possibly over optimistic but we'll see!

I think my next step is to organise a free taster class and launch party somewhere during August to get people signing up, then I can invite the newspaper to that and hopefully they'll print the story while theres stil time for people to catch the start of the first term

I was going to suggest doing taster sessions. My friend has set up a sing and sign franchise and before the classes started she did 3 free taster sessions, 2 at the local library and 1 at a surestart mums and tots group.
This is her first term and it's proving to be quite popular. I think over 2 sessions a week she has about 16 babies.
She also left leaflets everywhere, at all the local surestarts, libraries, baby clinics etc.
Good luck!

That sounds like a great start Hun and all that in two hours!!! :yay: It's great that you've already had an enquiry too. Will enjoy following this and seeing how your business progresses.

So excited for you :) you are doing an amazing thing ! Will be following closely x

Are you going to do leaflets and business cards and stuff? Vistaprint are very reasonable for them (we used them for our wedding stuff)

I'll get a load of stationary to edit with my details, will probably use vista print and just get fliers to hand out. Gonna go mental on the advertising, Im desperate to make a success of this!

One of my friends groups only has about 4 babies in it, but the other one has about 12 I think. She doesn't make any money on the smaller one but makes enough from the bigger one to cover it. From September she's adding a third group too so it must be working for her.

Are you going to have a website? Sounds b exciting. You are very well organised.

Using Tapatalk can't see no tickers grrrrr.

thanks chick! I'll def have a look!

A soft play centre are very interested in letting me run my classes from there  Im off out once LO wakes to book the church hall for thursdays and then I need to try and book the soft play place for a friday (depending on what fees they want :/ ) and I'll have 2 classes organised to tell people about! eeeeeee! Im scared and excited all at the same time!

yes the franchise has a website and Ill have my on part on there. They're relaunching the website this week so Im not putting any details on yet, as Ill have to redo it once the new site is up!

I have to make my first business phone call andIm scared! :oooo:

Trying to get stuff organised in my head so that if he asks questions I'll be able to confidently answer him. This is hard to do before Ive been on the training but I can't afford to wait around, I need to get the bookings sorted.

Good luck hun, sounds like you are making amazing progress already! really fab news about the newspaper coming too! xx
