my dh is from leeds and he calls rolls breadcakes, he gets some funny looks and blank expressions at the bakers :lol: :lol:

this could lead on to what you call the batter bits from the chippy! in Ilfracombe ( where i was born) we called them scribbles! dh calls them scraps

I'm from Stoke and work in a chippy and people come in and ask for them (I know what they are now...BAPS! lol) but I did give a few people a funny look at first and said sorry we don't sell them :lol:

Never heard of a barn cake?
My mums a northener and uses butty for sandwich though.
