Back from midwife.

Need to be scanned on friday morning because the baby is measuring 3 weeks small..she is shocked no one put me in before now when she looked back on my notes, i havnt seen my named midwife for a while but i have seen others.

Hope everything is ok. I was rescanned at 32 weeks on my DD as was small for dates..ended up with an 8lber in the end

Aww sorry to hear babys a bit small. But look on the bright side, at least it means your foo might stay in tacked during labour lol

Violet-glow you are so funny!
My midwife had a guess at top end of 5lbs or lower end of 6lbs when hes born.
So i shouldnt be too baddly damaged

 

Those meqasurements they do are crap.
They told me at 30/31weeks Damien probably had IUGR coz I measured almost 4cm too small, scanned me and he was fine, and was born 5lb 13oz at 34 weeks, which is way over a lb heavier than most 34 weekers!

Just trying to say, don't worry so much hun, your bump size doesn't always mean anything xxxx

Eblinx those weights sound fine. I'll be having Leorah next week and they think she'll be around 6lb but they never really know until you've had the baby anyway. Don't be worrying too much x

Thats true. My bump was small with Zack and my midwife was a bit worried. But he was born 9lb 10 and 1/2 so the bump size means nothing. This time around my bumps small again, so im not worrying.

My MW was never concerned with the measurements either, most of the time they didn't bother with the charts. One week I measured smaller than the fortnight before. If your baby is head down and tucked in your bump will be smaller. Although it's better to be safe than sorry I do think some MWs put the fear of god up you!

the midwife i had with my first seemed to take delight in saying ''oo you have a good sized baby in there lovely''

i don't think they realise how worried it is for us who have to part.


eblinx i wouldn't worry about the size either. mine was measuring two weeks bigger a few weeks back and now its ok. Like kina says i think the position of the head and baby alters measurements.

My 'foo' might get wrecked. Its suggested my baby is 2 weeks bigger than expected.

They told me Luke was to small that he would be about 5lb ok he was small but 6lb 15oz and I tore quite a lot

Nope sorry havnt been able to get online for a couple of days!
Everything is fine..hes alot bigger than they expected so my foo might be taking a bashing!
I just have a small bump 8)
