Hi girls,

I need to moan and get some advice. I have had bad back ache for the past few days and it gets so much worse at night in bed. It is a very similar pain i.e. piercing, to SPD, only it is in my upper back (just behind my shoulder blade).

It hurts so much when I turn in bed, and when I lie down. Anyone else got this? And if so, any ideas on how to relieve it? (bearing in mind my hubbie is away for 2 weeks and can't massage it... :()

Thanks.

I dont really know what to suggest, but I send you lots of sympathy and

Paracetamol?

I'm in agony every night to the point of dreading going to bed but I know it's not forever so just ignoring it.

So, its not just me... :( Sorry to hear that. I might give the paracetamol a go, thanks a lot.

I had pain but it was in my chest under my left ribs. They did think it was a blood clot on the lungs but it was just baby lying funny and pushing my diaphram into my ribs, maybe it has something to do with that.

Hope you feel better soon hun

I've had the odd backache at the bottom of my spine and it really does hurt sometimes so I can sympathise   It could be LO squashing everything together. Unfortunately I don't think there is a lot that can be done other than paracetamol and a hot bath. Hope you feel better soon hun

 I sympathise, although mine's more of a nagging ache than a sharp pain. I've had REALY sore ribs before though, that's like a sharp pain, so I understand how horrible it is.

No magic remedies I'm afraid   xx

A few weeks ago I was getting 'under the boob' rib pain on both sides which is apparently rib flare and common in pregnancy. It seems to have moved round to the back now and the only thing that seems to relieve it is lifting my arms above my head or lying in bed with my arms on the topmost bit of the pillow although that doesn't seem to help that much after a while!

Not sure if this is what you're having but hope you get some relief from it
