OH just asked me a question I don’t' know the answer too.

How long is it recommended before LO can be taken out visiting people? Most people are quite happy to come to us to see baby, but his dad is unable to because he is almost fully paralyzed (sp?), so is unable to get into our flat. Meaning we need to take her to see her granddad.

Would we be 'safe' taking her in the first week to visit him? His house is spotless because of the 2 carriers he has at all times, and has the cleanest air around from the air con units he has.

Yeah course hun, just keep babes warm, air con is freezing to a teeny one! I took Damien out in the first week he was home (Xmas day) and he was preemie. Didn't much after that though to be honest unless I had to, it was winter and he ended up with Bronciolitus :(

Just wrap bubs u warm and LO will be fine :)

i Had B on wed afternoon on thursday evening had loads of visitor and of fri was at work showing him off then in tesco :D:D

The reason they say not to go out for the first few days is for the mum not for the baby. Thats what HV told me anyway. Babies fine going out but take it very easy yourself.

I agree, its totally up to you & how you feel taking your little 'un out. It took me ages to go out what with being ill & then not being confident enough but when I did everything was fine.

i had my son early hours of xmas eve and was out on xmas day!!!
with my first i went out 2 days after havig her and with my second it was a couple of hours after being discharged from hospital i went round to my nans
i think as long as you feel ready to go out then do it, babys fine whatever

thanks ladies!

Oh was worried that his dad would miss out. looks like (all being well) he won't :)

thanks again!
