:D I would like to take Ivy swimming! What age will it start to be safe to take her into a pool, I'm not too worried about the water thing but more of the chlorine in the water. Would it be best to go to a class with her or just get in and do our own thing when the pool is quiet? Thanksxx

wait till she has had her first lot of injections, is a defo, but the younger you start the better it is as the more used to it they will be!

I was told anytime. I didn't need to wait til she had any injections. They chlorine kills any germs anyway.
It's just the younger they are the colder they'll get quicker. So you just need to keep an eye on her temp.

When i took Angel it was a weekday, and the pool was freezing. I was told if i'd gone in the morning there was a class on and they turn the temp up for the babies. It was so damn cold even for me.
So maybe a class would be better, or if you know of a warm pool.

I took Connie swimming at 6 weeks whilst on holiday. HV said it was fine before injections. She wasn't to sure about it first time but the second time she was a bit more relaxed. She didn't cry just had a very worried look on her face. We only did 5 minutes as was a little cold for her. I would definitely take someone else with you first time you go as I got Connie dried and dressed then came out changing room gave her to DH so I could get dressed. We rinsed her off well in the bath when we got back to chalet to get chlorine off.

It wouldn't dry out her skin too much then?

:D Theres a hotel over the other side of town that has a pool so we will be using that one I have never been but I would go over and ask or get my boss to ask when we take their flowers over. I would think they would have it a bit warmer?

 What did you do for nappys? Where can you get swimming ones? Thanks again xx

I couldn't find any swim nappies in 0-3 months in the shops as I think it is probably the wrong time of year for them  . I had 2 free disposable nappies in a new mum pack I had and I got a reusable from ebay. As Connie is skinny I put the disposable on and then put the proper swim nappy over the top as I was paranoid about her pooing and getting a floater  .

U can take them anytime - don't need to wait for their jags but u need to find a pool thats about 30 degrees or warmer. So a pool with a baby pool would be great :D

Limit the time in the pool for about 10 mins then build it up to get them used to it. Have a towel handy for when u come out and wrap Ivy up :D

U can get disposable swim nappies from the supermarkets - I have Tesco ones. U can get reusable ones from Zoggs and some other places. I have a zoggs one (its blue, they all are for some reason) that I am selling. Think is a small one but will need to check.
