Baby Monitors and the Internet

So my mother in law just gifted me an internet connected baby monitor.

While I'm sure it came from a good place, ex-colleagues of mine were sharing horror stories of being spied on by other people through their baby monitors.

Still have a few weeks/months before I start needing to worry about this, but not sure what to do. I'm grateful for the gift and it looks neat, but terrified about being spied on.

What do you guys think I should do with it? Have you ever been concerned about people spying on you?

You need to make your connection as secure as possible. I'm not sure the exact details on how to do this so have a google of it. Google the brand too x

I read about burglars using monitors to determine your daily routine ( we leave ours on all day & night )

And I read about mixed signals from nearby houses with monitors & also people intercepting & talking to the baby which terrified me!!

We use the tommee tippee one with the sensor pad. X
