Got a little time as babs is flat out so I thought I'd write my birth story.
Well we were dead on 41 weeks and I woke up at five in the morn with a massive pain in my tummy. I went to the toilet and went for a wee then went back to bed. A couple of mins later the pain came back and I turned over in bed and thought she must be lying in a funny way. Couple mins later the pains came again so I got up. After all the false alarms I didn't wake hubby up and I decided to go for a shower. The pains were getting a lot faster and stronger so I got my phone and started timing. By the time I dried myself I was certain it was time.
Woke hubby up who was ok how long between contractions yawn false alarm again yawn. I doubled up over bed gasping a min and half and he panicked lol.
I woke my boys up with instructions to lock doors, feed dog etc etc b4 they went to school my oldest is 16 and youngest 13 so they didn't need a baby sitter.
They were so excited but were told they had to go to school and we would text them later.
Phoned labour ward and they said come in.
Drove to Hosp which took abt 20 mins. I was gasping by the time we arrived.
They examined me as soon as we arrived and I was 4cm and in active labour. By this time I was really needing g&a which they gave me straight away. We were taken up to the labour ward and the contractions were getting really strong.
I was Determined not to have anything bar g&a and to be able to home.
I started to feel the urge to push and her head came out then her shoulders got stuck and it took two contractions the worse pain you can imagine and the midwives pushing my legs back round my neck to get her out. At this point the g&a wasn't touching me and the pain was terrible.
But out she came. She was a bit blue from fast delivery but was fine.
Placenta was a nightmare to pass and they had to pull it out in the end which was like giving birth again.
I also needed three stitches but hey she was worth it.
Little Lauren was born at 9.45 am weighing 9lb 1oz and we love her to bits xx

Congratulations and what a beautiful name. Lauren was considered for this baby if he had been a she, but my name is Laura so it's a bit close.
