Well it's been 6 days since my little boy arrived so thought I'd share my story with you all......
Due to being diagnosed with gestational diabetes at 28 weeks I was told I wouldn't be allowed to go over my due date, and was booked in for an induction in my due date ( 11th sept )
I arrived at the hospital at 1pm on the 11th and got a bed on the ward. They gave me an internal, and told me I was 3cm dialated and 80% effaced and soon as a bed was free on delivery I would be going down. But I was still waiting on the ward at 10pm that evening. I asked to go home which was agreed, but was then told I'd need another internal, where they found I was now 4cm dilated and got me a bed on delivery.
Once there the midwife tried to break my waters but it wasn't happening and was very painful, so I opted for an epidural. It took the anaesthetist nearly an hour to insert it and it was very stressful and upsetting.
Once inserted and active I had my waters broken and labour started!
Unfortunately I wasn't dilating quick enough due to bubba reacting badly to the hormone drip, so they had to slow it down, and I stayed at 5cm for 10 hours!
It was then decided the safest option was for me to have a c section, and baby jack was brought into the world on 12/09/2013 at 21:28pm
