Baby engaged at 35 weeks?!?

I went to visit the MW on Thurs as I have been having a lot of pain and was worried I may have an infection... she checked me out and all is clear thank God!

Anyway... the week before I was 2/5 engaged which she said was unusual for a second baby... this week she's 1/5. The MW predicted that I won't go to term and I just wondered if anyone else had been told anything similar... I'm a bit concerned!

I'm having loads of BH contractions and I've had a show already...

i know most babies are head down and partially engaged at 35/36 weeks for your first baby but thought it happened much later with subsequent babies so i heard

Thats what my MW said. Any after the first don't usually engage until days before... some not until actual labour! I don't want her to come early

with my third he started engaging at 33 weeks but i didnt have him till 38 weeks

Hey sweety, im being told the same.. my little one wants out early too apparently, so the midwife says as shes my second daughter and has been head down since 30 weeks and each time i go in her head gets lower and lower now is fully engaged. i dont know what to tell you as my middys not all that informative, but i suppose they will come when they want and theres nothing you can do about it hang in there hunny xxx

Yes this is true, Jaeda was engaged for some time but I had her at 40+5 so you just never know.
But reading that you've had a show could indicate baby arriving sooner but again people can have shows and still wait weeks for labor??.

Don't worry babe, she's come out anyway 2/5s engaged is further down the pelvis that 1/5. 1/5 is just that her head is sitting on the brim of your pelvis, so her head isn't actually IN your pelvis anyway sweet x

Well I thought that it meant that too but I asked the midwife what she meant and she said it means she's 3/5 in and only 2/5 left.... apparantly all midwives say it different ways.... which is just stupid and confusing!

She's coming to do a check up tomorrow... she wants to keep an eye on me?!? I've been having BH contractions all weekend and theyre getting worse everytime and I've had another show although it was small.

Fingers crossed she's not on her way... I suppose only time will tell
