Felix is 2 months old now and still only takes about 2oz per feed, even after sleeping for 6 hours he can't manage more than 3oz. But now he's just stopped eating all together :( he hasn't eaten in hours and every time a bottle goes near his mouth he screams. He's fine in himself seems perfectly happy just refusing to eat. I'm in tears I just don't know what to do :'(

Is he sick a lot? Maybe feeding gives him a little acid reflux and is uncomfortable for him? My baby has this and thrush in his mouth so feeding is a bit of an ordeal fr him at the minute bless him. Give your health visitor a ring x

My little girl want a big milk guzzler and at most was having 4oz feeds at 6months! Don't worry he won't be starving himself if he seems fine with lots of wet nappies I'm sure he's ok! X

I remember you posted a few days ago about reflux milk and you thought your LO might have reflux.

My eldest was exactly the same and this is how his reflux finally got picked up on after we got fobbed offers by doctors telling us he screamed all the time cos of colic. He started refusing feeds and would scream as soon as we put him in the feeding position.

Due to the small amount he's having I would take him to the doctors to get checked over that he is having enough and also get to the bottom of what's upsetting him.

I also remember you said your baby was on aptamil, this made my son's reflux worse.

I would definitely get him checked out. Small amounts of milk in themselves isn't too much of a worry - our daughter would only take 2oz per feed at that age, but she was tiny and prem, so that made a difference to how much she could take. If he's screaming when the bottle comes near it would suggest something like reflux as a baby will start to associate bottle with pain.

Yeah I'm not sure any more if reflux is the problem, he's not screaming as much after he eats and isn't sick very much, we give him cow and gate formula now which he seems to enjoy more. Yeah I'm gonna make an appointment for him, his weight is still healthy but it's stopped going up at the rate it was and started to slow down a bit. HV doesn't seem to see it as a problem because his weight is still okay, and yeah he has plenty of wet nappies so I guess we'll just have to keep an eye on it =/ xo

Why don't u try the next size teats if u haven't already? He might be getting frustrated with not getting the milk at the speed he wants and just giving up? If it doesn't make a difference u can just keep the teats in the cupboard for later x

My wee girl twin was exactly the same they are 10 weeks old and up until 2 weeks ago she was still only taking 2oz and just crying when tryin to feed her I switched her milk to cow & gate comfort and it's improved so much she's now taking 4oz easily and his alot more content. My little boy was was taking more but crying when tryin to take it then sick afterwards so I switched him to the cow & gate reflux and again huge difference he hasn't been sick again and is now taking 6oz xx
