12th July @ 11pm started having what I thought was false labour pains again but they were 3mins apart and worse then normal so decided to time them and see what happened. Became too sore to stay in bed so went downstairs and tried to get comfortable.
12pm Texted best friend and babysitter to see if she was awake and she said she would be there asap. Called Midwifes unit and was told to come in and get checked. At this point, OH was still in bed thinking it was another false alarm so made him get up lol. Decided to be a bit silly and drive myself to hosp (OH doesnt drive) and needed the car incase it was false alarm. Took hosp bag and carseat....just incase.
13th July 1am(ish) Arrived at Matty and was told to go to labour ward instead of midwifes unit because of gestation (36+3). Was initially monitored on trace which showed 3/4:10 moderate to strong contractions so was asked if they could do an internal to see if anything was happening. Told her I would cry if cervix was closed after all false starts. Was told waters were bulging and cervix was 6/7cm and could be stretched out more but was still a little spongy. Thought it would go quick once waters went. Got comfortable and sent OH to get bags out car and waited.
Contractions were coming and going and were measureing 85 at some points but started to slow down and nothing seemed to be happening.
5:30am Internal again to check and was told 7/8cm. Dissapointed as not much progress and since it had changed she wasnt meant to break my waters, but gave them a good poke and cervix a good stretch.
7am Shift change
8am New midwife redid internal and thought I was still only about 7cm so broke waters and OMG it was a tidal wave!
Contractions started to pick up again but stopped if I lay on the bed so tried to stay mobile. Using gas and air now.
Started to get very seriously painful and was clinging to the gas and air pipe for dear life.
8:30am decided it was too much and asked for remephentinol.
8:35am Dr came to put in IV and midwife left to make up drip.
8:50am was screaming for the midiwfe to put the stuff in my arm but she was being a meany and holding back.
Gave 1st push and he crowned. 2nd push head was out and 3rd push body was out at 8:55am all the time I was screaming for the drugs lol
Had baby on my chest skin to skin while they sorted everything out (OH had to leave the room - too emotional) Cai was taken away for a little O2 and taken right back. Very blue round mouth from congestion due to fast entrance.
Took a little while for placenta to come away and was checked internally for tears/grazes and bleeding and all was fine. Cai was a little cold so he was popped into a hotcot while i got cleaned up and comfortable.
Left alone with OH and Cai for cuddles for an hour to recover then moved to postnatal ward. Tried to breastfeed but not much luck. His blood sugar was under 2 so he was given some high energy milk and settled down for some sleep.
Continued to try breast feeding every 3 hours and started expressing and giving high energy milk until blood sugars were over 4. Was taken off hotcot to see if he could maintain his temp and did fine. Hearing test passed.
14th July 3pm Pediatrician checks passed and cleared for home with community midwifes to check for jaundice and congestion 'grunting'.

Settled in, bit sore and exhausted but very proud. Cai met his big brothers, Taylor (17months) was more interested in trying to steal his milk lol.
So 10 hours labour in all but fast active labour. Baby Cai is my earliest baby by 1 day and the smallest and just just perfect. All in all the labour was fine, just that end point were I wanted the drugs but was too late...did the whole 'i cant do it' and flopped about on bed lol
