Fed at 8 this morning seemed ok went to sleep after no orobs then again at 9.30 ish n 11 ish he had small snacky type feeds but he's just had some more now only abit n he's thrown it all up again ?

anyone experienced this? I know babies are sick but I'm worried that he's just throwing up whatever he's eating

Hi hon didn't want to read and run... But hopefully others will advise too.
My lO throws up a fair bit too, it's always worrying! Even when it seems like loads it might not be whole feed. Perhaps he we having growth spurt and ate too much, causing him then to snack on little feeds but still puke some up? Sorry u didn't get much sleep, hope u managed ok yesterday?
How has he been since?

My lo does this more so in the afternoon evening. She hates going flat took her to the gp and diagnosed reflux really common in babies. Tips were tilt the head of moses basket, keep baby more upright in your arms 15 to 30 mins straight after feed. I was prescribed baby gaviscon which I am strugging to grt in her so ringing go for an alternative. Worth a consider.

My lo used to do this for a week before every growth spurt - 2 weeks, 6 weeks and the worst was the 12 week one. Then she settled. Essentially it was a bout of reflux each time and the doc explained that as she grew the flap on the oesophagus needed to 'catch up' and until it did, she would throw up her feed. However he said what looks like a whole feed really isn't - 'a teaspoon goes a long way' were his exact words. It's true if you pour a quarter of a glass of water on the floor (which i did in desperation) it looks as though you've spilt loads so your baby is taking more than you think.
Just keep offering feeds and take loads of changes of clothes for you and baby wherever you go.

Glowing, I used infant Gaviscon and it made my lo horribly constipated :( I would syringe it in and she took it that way but after a couple of days I stopped using it and let her ride out the reflux - though it was only short lived for us. As you say an alternative is definitely a good idea!

I would guess that maybe little one is overfeeding? Especially if you're milk has now established and you have a fast "let down" or overproduction. Does baby ever cough/choke when you're feeding him?

He is still very young so is still learning how much food he needs...he could be overfeeding and bringing up the milk he does not need. Reflux is often painful for babies, so I would maybe expect baby to be crying after vomiting (although silent reflux does exist) as the acid would burn on the way back up.

If you do have a fast let down, try expressing a little before putting Max to your breast xx
