At what point does my bump/baby get measured?!

Hi all hope everyone is ok (well, managing the best you can!!)

I've heard a few people talking about the size of their babies and I'm just wondering at what point does a midwife measure mine? I'm 28 weeks and next midwife appointment isn't until 3 weeks time so I will then be 31 weeks and nobody has attempted to measure my bump of check size of baby is this normal??!! There's a growth chart in the back of my file that has been left completely blank .. have I just been overlooked or does this not happen yet??

Mine was checked at 28 weeks, in the front of my green book it tells me what should happen at every appointment and it says that you should be measured at 28 weeks x

Although if it's your first looking at this you should be measured from 25 weeks

Hi,

I can't remember with my first pregnancy but I know it was at my 28 week appointment this time. They just measure your bump whilst lying down but just like with the measurements of baby from the scan it is all very general and really nothing to worry about. I have a very protruding bump but was only measuring a little over 28 weeks (I think it's approximately a cm for each week you are) yet I have a friend who barley looks pregnant who was told she was measuring on the large size!

A lot of areas give you weight and size estimations from ultrasound but they don't where I am. Some stats are recorded in my file but they don't discuss baby's size with you or anything. From personal experience I have found their measurements and weight guesses horribly inaccurate so I don't worry about it

I think 25w with your first (it's my 3rd and I didn't get a 25w appointment). Was measured at my 28w appointment though and will be measured again at 32/33w appointment.
