I used to draw a lot, now I mainly do digital art (if you can even call it that) on a graphics tablet. I'll share some photos later as I'm on my phone lol.
Only advice for eyes I have is get the lighting right on them, don't let them appear flat and if you can get the eyelashes done well it'll help the overall look to them
Would also say while that tutorial is good I'd add on it by adding in 'white eyelashes' not too many but just add that little bit of white to them to give off a more detailed look
If you plan to use colour in the iris then it's great to use a blending tool to mix blues/greens or brown with tints of greens/yellows based on the light on them and always be sure to blend the pupil shine in well which goes back to the appearing flat thing I said, well rounded looking pupils set the tone for your finished eye
