IF I DON'T GET SOME SLEEP!

I have literally not slept all night. There is no reason for it. I'm not worried, stressed etc so I should be falling into a lovely deep sleep, but I'm not and I can't. I have been awake the entire night and it's driving me insane. I NEED TO SLEEP

I woke up last night with this extreme feeling of excitingment in the pit of my stomach, all the way to my throat. It was so odd, because I WASN'T EXCITED!!! I also felt kind of twitchy.

I miss having a normal night of sleep.

i can sympathise.
Im usually a very heavy sleeper but the past week ive been waking up at any little thing, doesnt help that the wee dog sleeps beside me! so every time she snores or moves im up and wide awake.
im actually sitting here feeling like im hungover from the lack of sleep.

you could try some lavander in the room, some calming music..i found having my radio on bery low so i can hardly hear it helps me get to sleep. and a nice warm bath just beforehand

 I'm foul without any sleep so know how you feel. It takes me ages to get to sleep these days.

try a warm bath before bed :)

ive just called in sick cos lack of sleep is making me feel dam right awfull

I hate it. I cope ok without a lot of sleep. Always have, but this is just doing my head in. I was getting REALLY stressed last night because I wanted to get to sleep so badly and couldn't.

I can't sleep with any light or noise in the room so radio etc is out for me. The thing is, when I go to bed I am really tired but it's like my body just won't give in and say, sleepies time!

When I get twisty and can't sleep, I do some breathing exercises that my therapist taught me (I see a therapist for severe anxiety). They really really help.
Basically you take two deep breaths (the sort where your chest gets bigger, not your tummy) Then you just breathe normally, concentrating on your 'out' breathe. When you've got into a steady rhythm, just say the word 'relaxed' in your head as you breathe out. Keep doing that over and over. You can extend and imagine the muscles in your neck and shoulders going soft as you breathe out and say 'relaxed' and then work through the rest of your muscles.
I know it sounds like a load of mumbo jumbo, but it is really effective.
I really hate flying, so when there was really bad turbulance and I was scared, I did that breathing and I fell asleep during the turbulance!!!
It is worth a try anyway

My sleeping patterns are really off.

I went to bed at about 1:30am and woke at 9am, like wtf?
