I have decided to open a savings account and decided on an ISA but my friend told me that I don't get a card or a bank book with this type of account. Is this true? and if it is how can you access your money easily.
ISA's can be different. Some you need to give notice on to get your cash out...something like 90 days but you can have instant access ones too...but you don't get a card...it's just a book as far as I know. That's all I have for mine.

i have one. you pay what you want to it per month - say 50 quid and it builds up or goes down - whatever the shares are like.
to get your money you can access it online and then send off for a cheque. It all takes about 7 working days to get your check.
It may take a few years for you to build up a decent amount of money.
We have one which we have paid into for over 10 years now. We just pay into it monthly and let it build up.
I have an ISA account and i do have a book for it but i like the idea that i cant get the money out easily as i now have a fair bit in there i havnt touched.
You have a capped limit of how much can be paid into an ISA yearly depending on whether it is cash or stocks/shares ISA (I think it is something like £7,200 but quite a bit). The best thing is that you don't get taxed on it which is fantastic.
