I Got a crissis loan afew years ago so not sure it is the same but basically you fill out a form stating what you need and why then it goes to pannel and they give you part of the amount you asked for, they send you a letter and ask if you want the amount that they have offered you, you send that back and i think they put the money in your bank account. it takes about 4 weeks or so in total. Waht your best doing is going to the local citizens advice centre they use to have the forms there and they can fill it out for you helping you th get as much as possible at least the one by mine does) the only problem is that when you pay it back through the jobs seekers it can be a hefty amount mine was £9 every week out of my income support. But I dont know how much things have changed since then. If you have just got a new place you can crank the amount up by saying that you need money for furniture and house hold things.
Good luck hope you get things sorted

I havent dealt with crisis loans for years but unless it has changed drastically then if it is for living expenses it is almost immediate. I suggest that you contact your local office and ask them what you need to do, previously you had to go into the office for a crisis loan interview but I dont know now.
You repay it back out of your benefit each week or fortnight (depending how you get paid).
aparently its usually instant when they give u the cheque.
so u go post office and cash it.
I got reused one a while ago and got thrown out from wherei lived cos o it and now years on they say i DID have it and even tho ive asked for the proo i had it and they CANT provide that they still say i have to pay it back
if it's a crisis loan then it is given on the day that you go in but it is dependant on an interview. If it is a social fund loan then it takes anything from 2 to 6 weeks. you fill out the form and then send it back then you get a letter telling you how much is being offered or if they have turned you down for it. you then send it back signed and then a few days later the money is paid into your bank
Bloody Job Centre. They make so much fuss to do the simplist of things. I was working for them last year. And now im back on JSA because my contract ended and they didnt keep me on, *******s. Was a great time though, my Uncle got me in, so we had a great laugh.
