Hi all.

As updated last week, my consultant decided to abandon this cycle but I'm in quite a bit of discomfort and not sure if it's normal or what to expect. They found a significant hydrosaplinx on my left side in the tube itself which is why they abandoned the cycle. I've felt really swollen on both sides and it is painful to even sit down with feeling like my sides are just bulging i,nside my belly. It's difficult to describe... I know on my left side it's caused by the hydro but I was only on Gonal F for 3-4 days and expected to feel normal by now but I don't. I was in pain last night even trying to turn over to sleep felt like my womb was pressing down and just very uncomfortable. DH rang the clinic today as they didn't give me any idea of what to expect now, whether my period will be late or not, how long I'd feel this way for etc but they told him there was no risk of OHSS because I wasn't injecting for long but I don't believe this is normal to feel this way. Or at least I'm worried it's not normal...
I've had this sort of pain before without realising it's because my tube is blocked so it makes sense but I just feel like it's a lot of discomfort to be in. They said if I'm very uncomfortable to go to my GP or A&E in a few days but I was considering going late last night! I thought I'd see how I was today but I'm still in pain.

Just wanted to see what other experiences were of abandoned cycles.

Hi Miss July,

Sorry for the slow reply, I'm having a bit of a break from the whole IVF game at the moment so not on here so much.

I don't suffer from hydro but I do have some very large ovarian cysts and a large amount of fluid where it shouldn't be is, i guess, the same thing, just in a different place?

I had a couple of cancelled cycles too. It's just awful isn't it? So disappointing :(. You will get there though. :)

It is unlikely to be any OHSS with those few doses of gonal. I did find that just the internal scans upset my insides something rotten at times though. It sounds like your experiencing the same things to me. It does go off after a few days and paracetamol can help ease the discomfort a bit.

I hope you're feeling better by now. Good luck with the next cycle :)

Xx
