Our consultant has recommended a 3d scan to look at my tube that often looks swollen during treatment but doesn't seem to be an actual hydrosalpinx when I have a procedure.

Has anyone had one?

I've had one but purely just for pleasure to see his wee face x

Oh that's nice! I don't have a baby to look at yet! This will be to rule it out as a possible reason for not conceiving.

Hi Blueflower, I had a 3d scan when they were diagnosing my unicornuate uterus. I think our consultant found it useful but to be honest it looked no different to me than all of the other regular scans I'd had, and it definitely didn't show anything enough of my fallopian tubes, I had to have a lap for that xx

I've already had a lap and it was clear so don't really want another one! But I do want to know if this is a hydrosalpinx and if its causing problems!

I think i'm having a 3d one at mine on the 21st, she wants to check my ovaries closer as she suspects pcos and also wants to see if they can tell anything else about the tube before my lap xxx

When I was looking it up a hydrosalpinx can half your chances of ivf and natural conception and also can cause probs for the embryo so could well explain you have good embies but them not implantating? Hope you don't have it thought and don't have to have another op before your transfer :(. If it dissapears not sure if its one as the one she suspects for me would be there all the time she says and also would be caused by the fact it is blocked with scarring apparently xxx

Wow, it sounds like you ladies have really good people looking after you!

I haven't had a 3D scan but I hope you haven't got it Blueflower (although I am sure it would be good to get answers).

Millie - if it is PCOS, everything feels so much better after you get a diagnosis. It is obviously a horrible condition but at least you know! X

It comes and goes so the doctor didn't think it was an actual hydrosalpinx with harmful fluid in that would inhibit implantation but I want to make sure as this is our last go of IVF! I think you are right Millie, hope so!
