My daughter has had this growth for 6 months. Started the size of a spot and has grown, more rapidly in last 8 weeks.

The doctor thought it was infected eczema but it hasn't responded to anything. ( creams, antibiotics etc) ImageUploadedByTapatalk1433248100.358299.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1433248113.790260.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1433248131.673278.jpg
We went children's hospital who booked us with a specialist but that's still over a week away and it's really bothering her :( she won't let you touch her shoulder now.
Doc still thinks it's infected eczema. She doesn't have any in other patches anywhere.

Anyone had something similar? It goes through cycles of weeping and scabbing over x x

I had Stephlacoccal Impetigo a few years ago. Excuse the spelling!

Started as a blister, burst and weepy, scabbed over, blistered round the edges, burst and weepy, scabbed over and so on. Ended up with a big patch of it on my hand.

Why does it look wet in the first pictures? Is it cream or is it naturally wet looking? It looks weepy so I wouldn't say it's eczema. Could be a staphylococcal infection which will need strong antibiotics. You'd think the Dr would have swabbed it to be on the safe side x

The wet one is when the scabs fell off. It weeps so much it soaks her pjs.

I've been docs 7 times and a&e 3 times. No swobs, just a lot of ' not sure what it is' and then booking us a specialist appointment for a month later.

Thank you guys, I'll look that up and see what it says as I've never heard of it x x

I thought impetigo too because it's very localised. I had it on my chest once and the only difference with mine is it was a ring rather than a circle however if she scratches it that could have made it a circle? x

She has a temp of 38.4 today :(
I'm so worried it's infected and causing a temp x x

If you feel she's getting unwell from it, or its making her suffer etc. I'd march straight to your local GP/childrens ward and refuse to leave.

We did, to our childrens ward (although about 10 weeks dioreah) they took us to a side room and said we couldn't be seen as needed to be refered, I stated we had seen GP, HV, a & e and just wernt being listened to. I told them I understood we couldn't 'just roll up' and expect to be seen but it was a last resort.
We got answers.

Just over over exaggerate only way to get places these days.
Hope shes ok x

Hi guys,

I just wanted to update this incase anyone ever searched for a similar thing.

Saw a specialist who said it is indeed toddler discoid eczema that is infected.
The rash over her body is eczema flare up from having a cold.
Prescribed 6 different creams for various parts if the body etc

Sooooo happy it's just eczema.
She's still very Ill but he reassured us this is nothing to do with her scaly patch :)

Thank you everyone :) x x x
