Any OPK ebay cheapie experts out there?

Hi, im on CD23 and have been having some strange sensations in my stomach (although i refuse to symptom spot!) We only BD once this ovulation period as OH was away. I had a peak on CD13 and CD14 on the CBFM and OH came back early morning of CD14 so we BD straight away. We don't know if we caught OV or not but BD on CD15 as well. I was getting bored of not POAS and i only have one test here and its a PREDICTOR which i dont want to waste plus i think its too early to test so I pee'd on an OPK and its brought up a faint pink line, clearly visable from 3 or 4 feet away so i dont have to strain to see it Around OV i do these tests a lot and normally they are completely blank up until near to OV but im in the 1WW so i wondered if anyone could shed any light on this please?

Im no expert but didnt wanna read and run!!! im sure someone will be more experienced to tell you as I have only been using them a month myself!

Sammy an OPK picked up my + but the line was as strong as the control line. Try taking another in the morning and see what it shows.

I thought I knew something about this so I looked it up and found this:

The short answer is: an OPK will turn positive if pregnancy hormone is present, but there are many reasons an OPK could be positive. To be sure, you should use an HPT to detect pregnancy and an OPK to detect ovulation. Mixing and matching can get your hopes up

So it sounds as though you could be PG but you really need to get a proper test & QUICK!!! Let us know

Hmmm... interesting stuff. I will test with another OPK with FMU Tuesday when ill be 10 days past ovulation and if its stronger then ill use the predictor test. I have spent so much money on TTC stuff i am not using the predictor test just yet... i need a good excuse to!

Hi all, well i took another OPK (i dont have any ebay cheapie PG tests!) and it was about as strong as yesterday so i took another this afternoon and it was definatey stronger than the other two. Finally i took the predictor test and it was BFN. These predictor tests are crap... the dye in them is so weak i can hardly see the control line let alone if there was anything in the test line. OH bought them but he wasnt to know bless him. I wont be buying anymore of them! And they take forever to show the result... rant rant! Might take another OPK tomorrow just for the hell of it to use the ast few up. If the lines continue to get stronger and im late for AF i may buy another test but it looks like we are out for this month. We are going to continue with the fertility clinic this month as i have to have my blood test taken on CD2 and then i suppose again on CD21, this is to check for hormone levels. It looks like we will be taking the ICSI route!

Hi sammy. It is true that OPKs can pick up pregnancy but its also true that you can have faint lines on OPKS at any time during the month. So I would never rely on an OPK for a pregnancy test. Good luck though

Hi Loola, i think these OPK's are a joke basically. They should detect for OV only. I mean i am due AF in a few days and the lines are getting stronger which would only indicate to me that im due to ov soon which is NOT the case... if they would do this during this part of my cycle how the hell can you trust them to bring up a positive result when they should do? Just goes to show you doesnt it? Ill not be buying them again. I dont think im pregnant, we have MF problems and have been told that we cannot conceive naturally although OH's sperm count shows he has 15/50% medium strength sperm so i dont know how they can say that. I admit the chances are low. I just feel like crying my eyes out. Its so frustrating..

Don't give up hope yet, you've still got another 4/5 days yet until AF?

Do you want me to post you some internet cheapie PG tests? Don't know how long they will take to get to you but they seem to be quite good ones (although always BFNs for me to date!!!)

hi Ellie... that would be great, your very kind... ive spent most of the night crying, its causing an enormous amount of stress on our relationship. Im trying to be strong but 14 months of TTC is draining me and im not as young as i used to be (37 in December) and time is running out i suppose. Im not sure which way to turn. Thanks so much for your positivity, i just feel its taking forever and maybe im just living in a dream world of hoping this will happen but it never will x

Thanks everyone... i think it makes matters worse because we know we have MF infertility problems, if that wasnt the case then it would just be a waiting game. OH is not working at present as he recently got made redundant and is taking interviews at the moment so we can't really afford to pay for IVF at this stage. I feel as though its come to the end of the line with our hopes for a child together. Its just not fair....
