hi every one my gynae has booked me in for an hsg test this afternoon, ive read a little bit about it online but I'm terrified and wondering if any of you guys have any experiences of this

Bit late if it was this afternoon but I hope it went well. Mine was uncomfortable but not that painful (bar putting the clip on to hold things open - shudder). I actually went back to work after mine and felt fine, but in the evening things started to hurt, felt much better the following day.

Thank you for replying it was very uncomfortable and I am still in slight pain now I did read that a lot of people end up pregnant after having it done but I don't want to get my hopes up to much

Hi Blonde, I've got my hsg next week. Sorry to hear it was uncomfortable and slightly painful

I'm meant to go to work the same night after the test and worried if I'll be able to manage... have you been able to get back to your normal routine despite the pain?

Hi Mrs law I'm still feeling some discomfort now and had a slight spotting but it's not really painful enough to stop me moving about I was advised to rest after I had mine done just because of the cramps, I haven't taken any painkillers as I try not to but I dare say if I did I wouldn't be able to feel an awful lot, the test was uncomfortable and I had quite a sharp pain when they put the tube and the dye in but I was very tense so I think it was probably my own fault once I managed to relax it wasn't so bad but I have read a lot of reports on line of most women falling pregnant right after so it's definitely worth it, good luck with your test
