Any one from Manchester area? Hospital dilema!

I ve recently moved to sounth manchester was brought in in droylsden. I always thought would live over that side but meet OH and staying in sale!! I was thinking about going to trafford hospital! Does anyone know anything about this hospital? just OHs mum saying i should go to wytenshaw but i think my new docs mid wifes are from trafford.

Hi Louzee22, Im from Manchester and trained to be a midwife at Trafford General but had my son at Wythenshawe. No particular reason for this, it was just easier for us to get there.
Wythenshawe is quite clinical compared to Trafford, its alot bigger, 3 separate wards on different floors, antenatal, postnatal and delivery and it feels very hospitally if you know what I mean, very busy and typical ward rooms. Trafford is a much smaller, self contained unit, feels alot more homely, carpets and max 4 bed rooms and not so clinical. Having said this though the standards of care are just the same I think its more down to your personal choice. I think if I had a baby in Manchester again, (my husband is in the army so not likely) I would go to Trafford.

My partner is from droylsden, we have moved to Failsworth, I am having the baby at tameside even though on paper its not in my area!!! I just wanted to have the baby there for some reason, because I couldnt be bothered going into manchester city centre!!!

Could you consider having baby out your area?
