I'm feeling like the old granny at 41 and pregnant lol are there any more older expectant mums on?

Hi Spriddy,

I would not say you are old by any stretch :)

I am 35 this month and expecting our first ... and not planning on stopping as we already know we want siblings

xx

i'm 42 and i will be 43 the month after i have my baby. Old enough to be her gran!! :'(

Yeyyyyyyy ladies!!!!! Thank you for keeping me sane lol I was starting to think I was very lonely being a pregnant pensioner lol

GBliz...Im 42 and will be 43 when i give birth....my birthday is May so i might be the oldest.grest idea starting a thread for us oldies! Is this everyones first or just Amy's? This will be my third (12 and 10 year old already). Im only 6 weeks and had mmc in sept so i know its very early days.just hoping this wee bean sticks x

I would love an older ladies post it's a great idea! I have a daughter 19 & son 8 and my first son was stillborn nearly 21 years ago. This one wasn't planned but very wanted. Hope everyone's pregnancy are going well. I feel mine's going quick but know my anxiety will kick.in soon and it won't come quick enough. I'm booked for induction at 39 weeks at latest x

Sorry to hear about your loss spriddy. Im not surprised you feel anxious. I was told i would be induced at 39 wks too due to my age! Made me feel like a dinosaur haha! How are you feeling otherthan your anxiety?

Ha, you're a whole month older than me melly! Now i feel better lol

This is my 3rd. My first (daughter) was a surprise almost 10 years ago (and i was classed as geriatric then!).

My second (son) was a surprise after many years of trying (including 2 early mc) and then just being content with one. he is only 15 months. So to find out I was expecting after literally ONE night of "well we better have sex at some point) was a 3rd surprise. Ha ha.

With my second they said they would induce at 41 weeks due to age (39 seems early?) but he came on his due date right after the induction had been booked (phew!)

With this one (another girl) they havent told me their protocol for OAPs yet . i'm in a different region now and see a consultant in a couple of weeks so should find out then. Fortunately i have no other risk factors and having a healthy delivery only last year will go in my favour i expect.

i feel like i'm the only person ever who has 2 late surprises! I know of a few people who have one surprise baby later than the rest but not two little later ones!

Sorry also for your loss Spriddy, I think that's every expectant mum's worst nightmare.

So i am officially the oldest in the group? Great!!!! Haha! I fell in july and this was a surprise but had mmc in sept so this made me want to ttc again....4th cycle later (and havind already stopped opks etc as thought it wasnt going to happen) i got my bfp...very early days at 6 weeks so worried i'll mc again but research suggests low risk of having another mc so just taking each day as it comes atm.x

Great idea for a thread. I’m 42 and expecting my first baby in August.

Yayy another 42 year old.....what month is your birthday? Im going to be 43 when this one arrives  x

I was 42 in early January so I’ll still be 42 when the baby arrives. I worry about being older but the midwives etc don’t seem bothered.

I’ll be very nearly 37 when I’m ttc again - I’m a midwife and recently cared for an58 year old, whose husband was 70!!

Yes midwife says its more common now that women are conceiving in their 40s.nice to have met a few now.x

Yeh, nothing is a surprise anymore. What bugs me though is that over 35 and over you’re auto condemned to higher risk of everything! Me and the ladies moan bitterly about it  they like that I can sympathise.
