Ante Natal Classes!!!

I am a little dim!!!! So I was just wondering if I am meant to arrange this ir my hospital does.

See I have a problem that my hospital where I am having the baby is in a different area to where my doctors is and I have recently moved so I am unsure who organises these for me

I think its different in different areas, we have to make our own appointments for anti-natal classes, sorry im of no help lol

I also had to book my own, the midwife gave me a phone number at my booking appointment to ring after i'd had my 20wk scan to book into the classes. I've got them booked now for January sometime.

Ask your midwife though as i've heard some people on here saying their midwife booked theirs so it does vary.

ditto the first time around, but they have not been mentioned this time . I don't even know if im entited to them (even though i missed them the first time around becuase i was in hospital so much!!)

how many ante natal classes you all have??? my midwife gave me the info, she just gave me a leaflet, and told me to just turn up (no need for appointment) but after 28 weeks, only one class.

she gave me info about the aquarobics as well. i should start to go soon to them as i feel like a couch potato atm!!!!

i seem to remember ours was 6, 2 hour 'sessions' one a week over 6 weeks. i went to the first one, and then never went to any others - i must have been 28 - 29 weeks.

I had to fill in a form at my booking in appt ages ago & they have just sent me a letter to say we have two classes on 2/9 Dec 6.30-8.30 & they are free. I thought it would be more like 6 but hey 2 is better than nothing!

Although hubby didnt think he had to go

Same here. My community MW says to ask at the hospital next time I go in (which will be for my 20 week scan). I've had two hozzie appointments before now and no-one's mentioned anything, saw no notices or anything either, so I just got to try and remember next time...

I've booked on NCT ones so I'm not sure how vital the hospital ones are, but I want to do them too if possible so I know how the hospital deals with things and its procedures etc...
