Another UTI

Arghhh so I have another UTI and it’s becoming a very regular thing. The doctor told me TTC can increase your chances of getting these infections gutted to be honest. I am on antibiotics and I find they give me yeast infections. I can get rid of all these annoying issues and I am getting so fed up with TTC. I just want to get pregnant and end this whole thing. Anyone else suffer from UTIs? And also I think not going to the toilet after BD makes it worse. I have been advised to pee right after but wouldn’t that decrease my chances of getting pregnant?

I used to get UTI's frequently. I haven't for a year because I started going pee after sex, wiping front to back and taking probiotics for your vaginal health daily.

I don't think peeing after sex would decrease your chances of getting pregnant either. I just usually chill there for 10 mins after sex and then go pee and take a bath to clean down there after.

ah ok , I am now suffering badly with UTI and yeast infection caused by the antibiotics for UTI, going to the docs today, gutted as my fertile window is approaching and I need to get rid of these as soon as

The best advice I can give you is anytime you take antibiotics, take probiotics with them. You should always be taking probiotics anyways. My favorite are RepHresh Pro-B Probiotic Feminine Supplement

Hi i always take probiotics but this time it’s not helping. I am going to the docs now as I need something stronger for thrush

Canestan Duo is good. If you've had sex since your OH will need something too.

hi maximus! i also get UTIs really easily. i try and always have a somewhat full bladder when we have sex (annoying, i know) because having a nice flow of urine after really helps to avoid UTIs. now that we're ttc, i lie down for 10 minutes after, but from what i read, that's not even really necessary. i do it anyway for good measure. i also ALWAYS get yeast infections when i take antibiotics (i get them quite easily in general) so i feel your pain. hope you feel better soon!!

Hey honeygirl it’s so annoying isn’t it. I have been told to avoid sex for another 4,5 days and I have a strong canesten cream to use after the antibiotics so let’s see what happens.

Just wondering who gave you that advice?

I used to get UTI's all the time and no longer do because I pee before and after. I drink a gallon of water a day too so it's for me too. Staying hydrated is imperative to preventing UTI's as well.

Mmmm I think I just read it somewhere. Seems to have worked for me, haven’t gotten one in 3 years. Sorry for you, Maximus!! TTC is hard enough without this extra stuff happening. I don’t know which is more uncomfortable, UTI or yeast infection...hope it clears up soon! xx

Peeing after sex definitely will not affect your chances of conception. Sperm are up in your cervix by the time you get up afterwards anyway. Drinking loads of water helps massively to prevent UTIs. I feel your pain with thrush though. I get thrush every single time I take any antibiotic. It's so annoying!

even though it's gone I am going stay away from intercourse for another 3 days and than roll on TTC

Ya good call. I had some recurring yeast infections last spring and my doctor advised me to stay away from sex for 2 weeks! We failed miserably at that, but it was fine in the end. Good luck with ttc, glad things are clearing up! Make sure to drink lots of water!!!
