Another Bad Day!

AAAARRRRGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!

My husband has just called me from work to say he's to go offshore tomorrow morning for 2wks! I'm due in 2wks 5days and everyone - including my MW - are convinced I'm going to go early!!

I'm so scared something happens when he's gone and I have nobody here except my neighbours - dont get me wrong they are fabulous - but would you want your neighbour there in hospital with you!!

Plus I feel so bad as I asked my husband why they weren't sending the other guy that does the same job as him away and he said that he'd had a death in the family - my response - "yeah well, there could be a birth in this one!!" How heartless a Bi*ch could I be. So once I realised what I said I burst into tears again!

I feel so down now as there is nobody here! My inlaws aren't arriving from america until the 8th July - my 2 best mates are on holiday! Suppose it's just going to be me,m the bump and the dog for the next 2wks!!

Aww, thats not so good. I'm sure you'll waddle along fine youself though.
I'm sure your hubby's company will pop him on the first chopper home as soon as you feel a twinge!
At least you'll get a bit of time alone for some much needed peace and quiet and some 'nesting', getting the house spic and span for the wee one's arrival!

aw honey thats terrible. Its not a great time for him to be going offshore.

But on the other hand you might be surprised at how into yourself you go nearer the birth. Sometimes having someone else there can be annoyingly distracting because you are concentrating on yourself.

Could you ask your midwife if they perhaps do a buddy system for people who might be on their own for the birth.

I hope it doesnt come to it though.

not a good day... if your like me and hate being alone and at home it'l in the drive you crazy! but as the others have said it's 2 weeks of just thinking about yourself... eat when you want! not having to worry about doing something for the tea... sleeping in the middle of the bed... making as much noise as you want middle of the nite for those toilet visits... have you got any bits that need finishing off in the nursery? how about buying a stencil kit and doing a bit of stenciling... or better still just out your feet up and rest... hopefully you wont go before your due date... your husband is due home 5 days before will he get some time off then?

and don't feel bad about wanting the other guy to go... thats only natural... your thinking of what is best for your family...

Awww. thank you all so much!

That me just finished packing his gear! I'm soooooo gutted!!

Especially since we can't even spend tonight together nice and peacefully as we have our hospital visit.

Nevermind - these things are sent to try us!!

Aww Sarah that's awful hun.

Try and look on the bright side, even though that's difficult. You will have a chance to nest, and as Hayley said, you can sleep in the middle of the bed!!

and just think... when he gets back you'll have missed each other so much.... there'll be loads of cuddles and kisses... and you know what thats good for!!!!! it all started with baby dancing!!!!!

Well, hubby left this morning

He's hoping to get job done in a week rather than a fortnight. And his work hae been really good - the practically have a chopper on stand-by to take him home if anything happens!!

Well, Im gonna try do as you suggested and make me time - my friend is coming round tonight and is gonna paint my nails and have a night of pamering to try cheer me up.
