also how low do you have to go...i got mine today and still cant find baby-i can hear mine and a sort of whooshing sound but thats it-no fast whooping! I just want to hear it-i hate all this waiting for a scan!
start at the very bottom hun... where the hair line is. Sweep it across from side to side really slowly.... a milimetre can make all the difference!
Slowly move it up if you dont get anything. For 11 weeks it would be still really low down.
Dont worry if you cant hear anything yet though
I was just before 12 weeks I think...Its really really low as your uterus is still in your pelvis until about 14-16 weeks I think... so start really, really low down and make sure you use lots of gel I use KY jelly works just as well as the other stuff people use!!
Auntie2mummy I think the whooshing sound you are hearing is the placenta so thats also a good sign its slightly slower than your heartbeat as it slows the blood flow down as it passes through the placenta
I found hb at 12 weeks, could just hear mine for a few weeks before that! It is very low down, try it with a full bladder to push baby up a bit as well.
I didn't try before 14 weeks but then found it straight away, very low down though... It's amazing hearing it for the first time, I just sat there for ages with the headphones on!
It took me at least 40 mins to find it at 11weeks. I started in line with belly button but at the level of my pubic bone with the doppler pushed in quite hard and angled slightly down. I then moved it around very slowly and very little movements stopping in each position but when I heard it, it was unmistakable. Keep trying and be patient as you can.
