when it comes to scans?
as most people get the 12 week one (dating) then the 20 week one
or just the 20 week one
ive had my 12 week one and my next one is at 16 weeks then i dont get anymore after that
do you think this is odd? anyone else have a 16 week one?
im going to pay for one at 20 and again at 28

It does seem odd - is the 16 week one your anomoly scan?
I though that was done at 18-22 weeks because that is when everything they need to check had formed

Maybe ring your hospital and ask?

I had one at 12 and 16 weeks, but I've just had another at 20 because they couldn't see all the anomalies that they check for like the brain and face coz it's too early at 16 weeks, so maybe you will still be called back at 20?

i honestly have no idea what the 16 week one is for just that il have all my bloods done at the same time
its very odd i will ask when i go for the scan anyways

why do you want to pay for another one at 28 weeks then? you wont really get to see that muh at 28 weeks coz baby is quite big.. unless u get a 4d scan? which as u might know are very expensive..

i had one emergency coz i feel down stairs at 11 weeks one at 12 week and one at 20 weeks.. i wont get anotehr now and im quite happy with that.. as long as baby is healthy i dont want to see it untill it comes out.. leave the poor bugger alone i say..having a stranger poking my belly with a ultrasound thing.. poor thing.

yep the one at 28 weeks is the 4d scan
the one im going to pay for at 20 weeks is a sexing scan and checking everything is as it should be
just looked on my white notes and it just says
16 weeks booked in for u.i.s scan???

I've only had one scan, at 10 weeks. The next is around 20 weeks and will be my last on the NHS.

I want a 4d scan for my xmas pressie when I'm 25-28weeks. Will find out the gender then too as they won't tell us at the 20 week scan up here

my 4d scan will be my bday prezzie my mum is paying for it so saves us the money
the hospitals here dont tell you what the sex of the baby is either which is why we are going to pay

I am supposed to have one at 12 weeks and one at 20 weeks

but my 12 week scan is going to be at 17 weeks for some reason

then I'm not sure if my 20 week scan will be at 20 weeks or later.

My sister had hers at the right times - and she had 2 extra ones cos she didn't know her dates to begin with then she was too big for her dates

So if I don't get my 20 week one I am blaming her for having so many

We only get one scan here at 12 weeks then nothing else on the NHS. It's not fair that some get one and some get two just depending on where you live. I'm going to get anoth done privately around 20 weeks or so - not getting a 4d one though as they kinda freak me out!!!

I think its cos in Hampshire they only used to offer the 16 week scan as standard. Now we get the 12 week one so they can measure the nuchal fold.

Most health authorities have now got rid of the 16 week scan and changed to the 12 / 20 week scans, although some areas are still sticking with the 16 week one (which must be the case for you).

i had an emergancy one at 9 weeks , wasnt allowed a 12 week

paid for one at 16+5 for gender

had nhs anomly at 20 weeks

got 4d scan at 28 weeks

and a nhs scan at 34 weeks ( apprently cos im a larger girly )
