Hi! Never posted in this section before but I need some advice.

We are going to my husband's family for the weekend after work tomorrow. It was bad enough having to find time to do the washing, pack and do all those things you need to do for going away after work this week and I wanted to freshen up after work tomorrow before setting off. However DH wants us to set off straight from work which would mean packing the car with all our stuff before work including bedding and turning up there in my sweaty work clothes!
Is it too much to expect to be able to shower, change and not have to get up early to pack the car? Its his family and I want to look half decent and feel relaxed. He thinks I'm being selfish and is huffing and banging in the kitchen!

Opinions please! I know its not a serious issue but I sometimes have trouble knowing if I'm being unreasonable or not!

I don't think you're being selfish at all! I would want to do the same thing.
Why is he so adamant about leaving straight from work? Will it really save so much time doing that?

Thank you! He wanted me drive to meet him at his work which is 40 minutes of the way there which I don't have a problem with. He said its a long day for him otherwise. He'd have to wait an extra half hour or so for me if I shower and change etc first. We are going in a van we haven't driven at night yet and he doesn't want to drive when its too dark!

I suppose men don't care about being relaxed and fresh, they would rather rush!

If its only an extra half hour of him waiting, then yes, he is overreacting a little bit.

He said we'll leave from here now even though I said I could still meet him at work when I'm ready. He is sulking! He thinks its less stressful to have to get everything ready in the morning but I think its less stressful to get ready fir work and then get ready for the weekend after work! He probably thinks I'll faff if given the chance but I want to make sure I have everything!
It makes me feel hassled when he's like this and I hate being thought of as selfish. I think he just likes his own way! Its alright for him, its his sister but I don't want to turn up there looking like an old hag!

Can't you pack everything the night before and load up in the morning, then shower when u get in from work? That's I usually do when I go to my parents. Less stressful than packing the actual day x

Yeah that's what I did and it was fine! We left at 5.30 and still got there early! They hadn't even had tine to tidy up! Glad we didn't leave from work and arrive even earlier!
