Am I Really Pregnant???

Hi Girls,
I've been reading the messages on your forum for the last few days as I was looking for reassurance.
I took a pg test on wed evening and it came back positive!
I took another test a few minutes ago because I still can't believe it and that had a slight positive (different make).
My question is, even if you have a slight positive are you pregnant?
Could it just be a fault with the tester?
I had a miscarriage 6 months ago at 9 weeks so I'm really happy but I'm also scared that something will go wrong and I still can't believe it's happened.
So if I am pregnant (I'm 5days late by the way) I can't wait for morning sickness...does that sound wierd?

A positive is a positive however strong the line is, so Congratulations!!!!!

Different makes of tests can produce different results. I had negatives with one make, and then a positive with another!

With your history of having your miscarriage (I'm sorry to hear about your loss), I would book in at the doctors just to be on the safe side so they can monitor you more closely.

Ive taken 5 pregnancy test on this pregnancy lol just to make sure...

First 3 said negavtive because I took them way to early (I couldnt wait)

The 4th I took the result was very bright and in your face saying positive

The 5th was very faint and by this time i was 5 weeks pregnant.

The instructions for the tests say that even if it is faint positive then it is still positive.

If your worried id take another one just to make sure...
or go to the doctor and have a chat about it, if you feel you need to ask more advice.
The doctor will need to keep a close eye on you because of your miscarrage before. (hugs)

A positive is a positive no matter how bright it shows hun.

Go to your doctor for a blood test to reassure yourself though

Hi Charm,

Different pregnancy tests measure different amounts of the pregnancy hormone, so that could explain why the second test showed a faint positive as that may test for a higher level of the hormone. You will produce more of this hormone as the days go by as it roughly doubles every 2-3 days.

So a positive is a positive!
