Brooke is now 10 months and not sleeping through. She used to sleep through until she was 7 months but it all went downhill from there. I think it started when she got a sickness bug, cut her first teeth and moved to her own room. She went from stirring for her dummy to full blown wide awake for hours and not settling without milk.
We have tried everything - more than once too: leaving her to self settle (for up to 2 hours), offering the dummy countless times, offering water, cuddling/rocking back to sleep, bringing her in bed with us (this is happening more and more) but in the end, after us all being up for hours, we give her milk and she goes straight off. I know people will say "it's habit", but we've tried dropping the milk and whilst it works for a short time, a week or 2 later we're back where we were.
I don't really know what I want people to say - I don't want to leave her to cry it out (it doesn't work) and yes I can offer water again instead of milk and it will prob work for a little while. I guess I just want to know I'm not alone and that it is pretty common for babies to wake in the night. I remember it used to be the "thing" that babies woke in the night but I feel like I can't say that she isn't sleeping through as it just isn't the done thing anymore - I feel like I'll be judged as a bad Mum and like I'm doing something wrong? I'm just looking for Mums and Dads in the same boat really x
