he was really cranky and aggitated yesterday, crying for no reason etc..

last night he became really warm and sweaty, so we phoned nhs 24 who got us an appointment at the out of hours doctors. they had a look at him and said he has an ear infection poor little man

bc he's still so young they can't give him anti-biotics or anything obviously, but they have given him a really low dose of paracetemol to help his temp and soothe the pain

today he's really sleepy, do you think this is normal? it could possibly be the paracetemol.. he's still drinking milk, he wakes up now and again, wanting an ounce or two..

it's so horrible when they're ill, you feel so helpless, i just want to take his pain away

It is prob just the paracetamol making him sleepy. It's good tho that he is taking milk still

could be the paracetamol... although its not a side effect of it... Its more likely he feels crappy like we all do when we have an infection and he's just sleepy.... but its a good thing... Sleep helps our bodies repair themselves and the more rest he gets the better... Make sure that he gets plenty to drink milk wise

Ditto what the others have said about sleeping. Its good for him and I am sure once he gets over his ear infection he'll make up for it

Poor baby

Hope he gets better soon. I suffered from loads of ear infections when baby/child and it isn't fun (we had loads of trips to A&E at night)...
