Made it to 7 weeks without any spotting but today my wee/cm is tinged brown.
Not sure what to do? My midwife is supposed to be coming tonight, should i call her or out of hours gp?

So frustrating as I'm in a new area and my old consultant (recurrent mc) used to scan me at 6 weeks.. Here the soonest they'd see me is on Wednesday when I'll be 7+4 :(

might be easier to wait for your midwife coming today , try not to panic xxx

Try not to panic (easier said than done I know!) You may as well wait for the mw I would say. Remember brown blood is old blood so could just be from implantation only just coming out. Big hugs. fx all is well xxxx

I'm so sorry to hear this Lou, how scary for you. Would it be worth contacting the EPU to see if they can do a scan today and maybe give you somthing if you need it, have you had progesterone supplements before? xx

I have had it from week 5 and still have it! It does not necessarily mean anything bad, everyone tells me old blood is brown and nothing to worry about! I have had bright red bleeding too at 8 and 12 weeks and baby always been fine so please try not to worry too much xx

Yeah I'm on progesterone now. I've called the midwife and she said to try to get into epau tomorrow or if it gets any worse to go to a&e, it seems a bit better now. Sounds odd but it feels a bit like cystitis xxx

I'm 6 weeks today and been brown spotting since 7.11.15... I found out I was pg on 23.11.15... I've got a scan at epu tomorrow and trying to keep positive. I'm still having morning sickness as well as spotting so hopefully that's a good sign. We've just got to try keep calm and relax xx

My friend was on progesterone up until 12 weeks with her first Lou and had spotting / bleeding at 6 and 8 weeks. She was told that progsterone can irritate the cervix and that was what was causing it, everything was fine.
Good luck ladies xx

Ahhhh that's interesting!! I didn't know that!
It's stopped now, not had anything since about 12... It's difficult, i think I'll still call the doc because i had similar with my first pregnancy (though there was a bit more blood), i assumed it was nothing and then had a mmc and wished I'd gone to the doc sooner so at least i would have known.

Good luck Sesame xxxx

Unicorn, was your friend using them in her vagina or bottom? Is it the hormone that causes the irritation or just the action of inserting?
Sorry tmi lol but i use them in the derrière xxx

Haha, no problem Lou, no she was using the vaginal gel (like I am) and I think it is more that than the actual hormone that causes the irritation, sorry xx

No worries, thanks. I'm a bit iffy about using it.. My old consultant said it won't do any harm and it might help but I'm not so sure :/

You're iffy about using the progesterone? Why? xx

I dunno. It's really weird, when i was googling there were a few types and some of those had side effects and it said contact your dr immediately if you become pregnant & do not take if you are pregnant without dr permission. Just seems odd xxx

I'm pretty sure it is perfectly fine. As I say, they give it as a matter of course in IVF cycles and as it's something that your body is naturally producing more of when you are pregnant anyway I'm sure it can't cause any harm! My consultant has told me to use it up to 13 weeks xx

It could be cystitis? I've had blood with that....

How did it go Lou? Did you see your M/W last night?? Hope everything's ok for you xx

Hope you get it treated asap. Utis can be nasty xx
