Oh my goodness!!! Poor cousin and baby, she must be terrified!! I'm not really sure what to say to be honest, but she will have a very long road ahead of her. I met a lady in NICU she gave birth at 28 weeks by emergency c sect, lo weighed in at a 1lb. She stayed in hospital for about a week and then went home, baby stayed in special care for about three and a half months!! She expressed milk for him and used to take it into the hospital and they would store it and feed him her milk through his tube. Hes fine now and is almost seven months old, still tiny weighing in at around 11lb..... Its just gonna be really stressful and upsetting for her, but you really do have to remain positive to get through it. Bless them xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Hey, My LO was born at 29 weeks, i know its not quite the same as she wasnt as early, but its a stressful time regardless, my LO was in SCBU for 6 weeks in total and it was just awful. But, a few things ive learnt in that time, i felt very pressured to breast feed while she was on the SCBU (id wanted to anyway!) but i was under so much pressure and being away from her i just wasnt producing enough milk and when i eventually put my foot down and told them i wasnt going to feed her on only breast milk and they gave her part and part i felt a lot better and could enjoy my time with my baby. Also, every little milestone feels amazing when they are that little, just the small things just let her know the nurses and doctors are amazing people and they will look after her and baby amazingly, hope all goes well xxx

thats awful, hope ur cousin and bubs are ok,

no advice just stay positive! xxx

Wow what a situation ! I feel for your cousin deeply. I had severe pre eclampsia too and had my little one at 32 weeks which was scary enough. I couldnt imagine 24 weeks. A girl I know had her baby at 26 weeks and he weighed very little. A pound at most. They have struggled but he is now a healthy 4 month old boy ! All the best xxxx

I had my 4th baby at 23w 6d.

NNU was a long hard journey and the best advice I can give is to take one day at a time, rest, cry and eat. Anya was in hospital for 136 days and at times it does feel like there is no light at the end of the tunnel.

How is your cousin's little boy doing? We were very lucky that Anya didn't have as many problems as some early babies have. She is now 10 months and doing amazingly. I'll try to answer any questions you have. xx
