Advice Please......

Morning I am looking to you lovely lot for some advice.

I went to give blood on Sunday but they turned me away because my iron levels are too low, can early pregnancy cause low iron levels?

I am not sure if I am or not at the moment, AF hasn't arrived yet but she isn't due until today and I had a very faint second line on a pregnancy test last night, but it really was very faint.

I'm so confused, what’s your opinions good or bad.

I cant give blood as I am prone to aneamia which would show low iron levels, and I know that I ALWAYS get aneamic when im pregnant and sometimes around AF.

I didnt know I was prone to this until my first pregnancy when my iron levels dropped.

So I guess, if you this would be your first pregnancy and you havent had aneamia before, you could be the same as me, whihc could very well indicate pregnancy.

Its worth noting though that it could also be that you are a bit run down, or you do get slightly aneamic around AF but just have never noticed before!

Having a second line on your HPT sounds like good news. They say that any line however faint it a positive result. I get anemia (sp?) during pregnancy so I guess that could be a sign for you.

Hiya,

It could be PG related. Last June because I had a blood test for PCOS...it actually showed I was aneamic...I got my BFP about 2 days later.

I had to go to gastro specialist to see why I was so aneamic, (hadn't been aneamic before and had quite low iron level) his opinion was that it was PG related, even at that early stage. (Although by that time I was no longer pg )

Hope that makes sense.

Thanks for your advice, I know what people say about having even the faintest of lines but I just don't want to get my hopes up, I might buy a first response test at lunch time as I only used cheap eBay test strips last night and this morning.

The blood people told me that they will send my blood away and test it then I get a letter letting me know their findings, I suppose if I am pregnant they might find it.

Good luck Tiggerstacy make sure when you next test that you test first thing in the morning. The hormones are much stronger then. Keeping everything crossed for you.
