Advice Needed Please

Hi,
I have just got back from the docs and from getting my blood test results:

I am anaemic ...........
and borderline diabatic .............

the doc says that the borderline diabetes is probably because of my age (I'm 40) and I have a high BMI

I have come away really worried .......... been looking it up on the internet and altough some of the info is great it is also a bit scary.
anyone else experienced this ???

I also need to watch my iron levels - eat more red meat and green veggies
and to think that up to now everything had been fine and dandy !!!

can u take any iron tablets hun, did he explain everything to you whilst you were there? As if it isnt stressfull enough havin a baby big hug hun

I am a full diabetic type 2 and have been told that diabetics are pron to have BIG babys .

Has long as you watch what you are eating and be careful how much sweets and choc you eat you should be fine .

If you feel you can not put your mind at rest you can purchase a diabetic test machine from the chemist they are about 10 pound and you can monitor your sugar level all the time .

However you will need to ask your doctor for prescriptions for the test strips has you cant buy these in shops .

Don't knopw much about being borderline diabetic sorry, but I was diagnosed as being anaemic during my third trimester. They gave me iron tablets to take and also I upped the amount of broccoli and stuff that I ate.

I have joined the diabetes forum and there is loads of info and help there...

as usual everyone on here is so helpful and supportive
