Hi ladies,
I've been losing pieces of my plug today about 7 huge pieces with some cramping and then went for a walk had nothing but then had irregular pains for a about 5 mins this evening and lost another piece of the plug but nothing since. I'm 39 weeks on Sunday and have a midwife appointment tomorrow I did ring and ask but she said to keep active and just go about my daily business as normal. I went for a walk and came home after an hour and a half with nothing except some lower bump tightening which stopped again. I'm really confused as my plug is completely clear and it's supposed to be bloody apparently (people keep telling me that) so is it not good it's clear? Definitely my plug as very big snotty blobs (sorry tmi) but I just don't know what to make of it been losing pieces for weeks now on and off but the last week it's every day but not as much as today! Also got some back aches but it's not my lower back it's just above there. Anyone shed some light? Bump had dropped almost completely he's definitely head down and possibly engaged can feel him when I walk and move about Xxx

With my daughter I lost yellow snotty looking bits of plug over 2 weeks, bits and bobs at a time and then I lost what they call the bloody show literally just before I went into labour. Woke up due to a painful contraction went to bathroom and there was a huge blood tinged piece of plug to greet me x

Are you sure it's not CM? I would let my midwife check when you see her tomorrow, a lot of heavy cm can look like plug. Even if it is plug I don't think you have anything to worry about. My friend lost her plug (bloody show at this point) 3 times in her pregnancy , twice way before labour x

Yeah I'd check with mw tomorrow. Pop a pad on in the morning and take it with you to show her if you can. I think it's normal to be losing it now x

I didn't have any bloody show in either pregnancy, I don't recall losing any in labour either. Things are moving in the right direction for you :)

I would go for a walk or scrub the floors. Losing plug is normal and it can happen for a while, but it's definitely gearing up in the right direction. If the pain increases/becomes more frequent/your waters go, then I would get I touch with the mw again. X

My plug wasn't bloody sort of clear jelly snotty (sorry I know that's gross!) I lost a load in the morning when I sat up when I woke up and then my waters started leaking that day and by the evening I went into labour. I'd pop a pad on and just see what happens, could be the start of things for you :)

Yep definitely plug had watery cm with it but it's big jelly like pieces, lost more during the night one bit was that big I was so shocked so popped a pad on and yet more so gonna ask my mw to also check if I'm dilating at all cause it's been all day and night too with lower back pains now. Thanks ladies it's just not nice it's gone yellowish too which I was told is normal but green is bad. Just a bit confused why all of a sudden I'm losing monstrous amounts of it even though it reforms it's still a bit much xxx

Totally normal to lose it over few weeks Hun as it does replenish itself every 2 days so it does end up feeling like jeez how much more could there possibly be but until your body is ready for labour it will keep rebuilding every 2 days so that is why it goes on for ages :) x

Well it sucks haha it's just horrible to see it in my knickers all the time this is weeks and weeks now. Today seems like another day of losing loads had 5 big blobs in an hour! Xxx

I had my midwife check up and I'm measuring at 40 weeks so I'm going for a scan Monday to make sure it's all baby and not just fluid, I was really upset as I didn't feel confident in this midwife checking me she didn't even check position of head properly so I've been in floods of tears. I'm 39 weeks in Sunday so I'm still only one week ahead why she said I was 2 weeks has confused me so much xxx

It goes by your growth chart hun, not your weeks.

So is this something to worry about? I'm slightly concerned xxx

No, nothing to worry about necessarily. They are checking you to know what's going on in there - if a big baby they will monitor you to make sure bubs doesn't get too big and if there's extra fluid, you'll be monitored for that. With both there is a chance you will be induced at the appropriate time but both you and bubs are likely to be a-ok!

Thanks kumber got myself into a right state today worrying and ended up crying so much she just made me feel so unhappy as the last check I had the midwife did it properly this one couldn't seem to find her mind and was asking me what she'd just said I was really not confident in her at all. I just want him here now. Xxx
