Hi

I am moving back to the uk in april, when I'll be 20 weeks. I need to sort out going to the drs and finding a midwife which I'm assuming will not be a problem, once I'm back. I'll have my 20 week scan here before I return.

I was wondering if any one could let me know if I'll have missed anything...... Ie when do classes start etc, I'm assuming I won't be too late to join these as they won't have yet started..... Is this right?

Secondly sadly my partner won't be coming back till end of June when I'll be about 32 weeks..... What will he miss, I'm hoping not too much but I've a feeling that won't be the case???

Hopefully Someone can help me with these questions, I'm just feeling a but overwhelmed with all the upheaval!

 I moved when I was 17 weeks. Registering was really simple. I went into the GP surgery told them Id just moved to the area, filled in a form then you have to see the nurse for a new patient check so did that told her I was 17 weeks pregnant and she rang the midwife who did a home visit the next week.

I had to redo all the blood tests though :(

In my area antenatal classes were at about 34 weeks so your OH can go. Good luck with the move!

That's reassuring thanks for the info.

It's bad enough all the moving and being apart for so long, I'd hate it if he missed stuff!

Thank u
Xx

I can't think of anything your OH might miss, I did have a few late scans but they were due to medical problems rather than the norm. Classes started at 28 weeks here, although my mw forgot to book me on them and I didn't realise they started so early so I didn't actually start them until I was 35 weeks, it wasn't a problem tho. Good luck with the move! :)

There seems to be a big variation of when classes are which is my concern, but it's out of my control I suppose!

I'll just have to take it as it comes, if he misses something then so be it! Just wish it all wasn't happening but I know it has to, I definatly want to come home, I don't want to be away any longer.

Thank you

Classes start at 28 weeks here, but they're a rolling programme you can go to any time between now and 'the end' - there's 4 and they're held one a week so technically I could wait until 34-35 weeks and still go to them all - guess it will depend on what area you're moving to. Your OH may miss out on a couple of appointments, and possible a scan if they give you one to check etc, but it can't be helped! At least he'll be here for the end :)
