Am I alone in feeling discomfort in walking. I am 21 weeks pregnant and seem to have a dull ache in my lower pelvic area whenever I get up to walk. I feel like I am waddling when I walk and it's quite uncomfortable. Yesterday I would have periods where my lower abdomen went rock solid and then went back to normal. I thought perhaps I was having Braxton Hicks (apparently some women can get them quite early on!!) I also went for a brief walk on Thursday to the shops and on my way back I could barely walk as my thigh muscles tightened up on me. It was really difficult to get anywhere.

Does anyone seem to be experiencing this or am I alone? I spoke to a midwife last night and she didn't seem overly concerned, but cos this is all new to me I can't help but worry.

Why don't we get told about all the other things we experience in pregnancy, not just the morning sickness!! Tee hee.

its just part and parcel of being pregnant im afraid! as the ligaments stretch to accomodate your expanding pelvis it can cause a lot of discomfort in the pelvic area, it will get worse as your baby gets bigger!

think the only thing you can do if its really bad is wear a support belt around the lower half of your bump to try and alleviate any symptoms

I've got the same thing. I ordered a support band from the NCT. It hasn't arrived yet though.
I seem to get it when I've been walking a while too. It's a really odd feeling.

if i walk the kids to school which is about 1/2 mile 3 times a day i tend to feel pretty bad then and ache a lot, also if i go shopping it hurts more
