Hi everyone. Hope you are all doing well. Over this last week or so, I have been experiencing severe pain in my lower abdomen. This pain is worse when I have been sitting or lying down for a while and then get up. It's a dull ache and it really hurts when I walk. I spoke to a work colleague who is 30 weeks pregnant and she says she has the same too. She says it is the baby pressing down on my bladder. Surely and 1.5lb baby can't cause this much pain already. I'm in agony whenever I move and walk. Has anyone else experienced this? If so, do you know what it is? x

hiya,

sounds like the pain i had on sunday, i went to the hospital and they said it sounded like a uti but were reluctant to give me antibiotics as my urine tested clear.
It feels like what you imagine labour to be doesn't it? God help us.
All that really helped me was a couple of paracetamol, (they said I could take co-codamol but I'm scared of constipation) and try and sleep it off....

Good luch though babe, I know it's much easier said than done....have a careful

I get this sometimes, but the midwife said it was nothing to worry about! Have you spoken to your midwife for reassurance?

I haven't spoken to my midwife about it because I don't think it's anything serious (well I hope it isn't) and I don't like to pester my midwife about the slightist pain or anything. That's why I asked on here first to see if anyone else has experienced this pain. x

I have read on some pregnancy sites that its entirely normal to get pains in the lower abdomen as the uterus is stretching to make room for the baby. Also, it said that its all the ligaments stretching too and that you will feel it more if you have been lieing down for a while and go to get up so it sounds exactly like what you have! It sounds like your fine!
